Hello, I am Mrs. Backstrom. I love what I teach and where I teach since I am a Medical Lake graduate myself. Go class of 2007! I teach 11th-grade English, AP Language and Composition, AP Literature and Composition, and ENG 101, 102, and 105 through CWU's College in the High School Program. I taught for three years in Harrington, WA, and my first year teaching in Medical Lake was the 2016-2017 school year, and I have been here ever since.

 

I graduated from Eastern Washington University in 2011 with a Bachelor's degree in English Education and a History minor.I received my Master's degree in Gifted and Talented Education in 2016 from Whitworth University.

I am also a National Board-certified teacher.
