Join our dedicated team at the Facilities, Finance, and Analytics Administration (FFA) Laundry Services as a Laundry Worker 1.
In this role, you'll provide clean linens and launder clothing for patients at Eastern State Hospital, West Lake and Lakeland Village. You will be assigned to a work area, but may work in all areas of laundry support. Join us today on our mission to Transform Lives!
Some of what you will do:
- Operate washers, dryers, folders, stackers, and presses
- Unload soiled laundry bags from carts and sort soiled linens
- Weigh and log in weight of all laundry received
- Sort clothing in preparation for washing
- Take daily linen inventory from the wards and log in requests for linen
- Load ward linen or clothing delivery carts
- Dry, fold, count, stack, and shelve towels, washcloths, blankets, and bibs
- Prepare sheets and pillowcases for ironing
- Clean work areas
What we're looking for:
- Ability to read, write, and communicate with co-workers and other departments with professionalism and respect
Desired:
- Ability to operate washing machines, mangles, dryers, and presses
- Willingness to do repetitive work
- Ability to work in a noisy environment and in elevated room temperatures
Prior to a new hire, a background check including criminal record history may be conducted. Information from the background check will not necessarily preclude employment but will be considered in determining the applicant's suitability and competence to perform in the job. Employees driving a privately owned vehicle on state business must have liability insurance on the privately owned vehicle.

The Production and Manufacturing Academy is an interactive summer immersion program for incoming high school juniors and seniors. The 4-week summer program provides a hands-on experience in engineering, designing, 3D printing, technology, welding, machining, production, and management.
* 1 high school credit is offered

Energy Pathways is a free program for incoming high school juniors and seniors (2020/2021 school year) to develop knowledge, skills, and abilities fundamental for a career in energy. This weekday program will run from July 13–August 7, 2020 at 8:00a.m. – 4:00p.m.
Upon successful completion of the program students are eligible for CTE credit and a monetary completion award up to $2,000 based on participation and attendance. A short written or video essay is required to be considered for the program. Student recommendations will be accepted, but are not required. Students will be responsible for daily transportation to the Jack Stewart Training Center located at 8307 N. Regal St. Spokane, WA 99217.

SUMMER POSITIONS
Crew members between the ages of 14 and 17 are being recruited for summer positions. Please see details below, including a link for the application.
- Crew members are led by adult supervisors, and will be primarily involved with litter pickup, recycling, and environmental education
- receive $13.50 per hour
- work 8 hours per day (4 days per week) for approximately 3 ½ weeks
- To apply, students are required to submit an application form along with two reference form.
- Both the application AND the reference forms must be received in our office before the deadline in order for the application packet to be considered complete.
