Curious about aerospace?
Have an interest in aviation?
Wonder what you'll do beyond high school?
Want to be part of something bigger than yourself?
Then JROTC might be right for you!
In this brief interview, Colonel Alan Hart provides an overview of the Aerospace & Military Pathway offered at Medical Lake High School through the Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) program.
Whether you decide to enter the military, go to college, or choose another path after graduation, JROTC can provide you with opportunities to improve self-esteem and motivation, develop leadership and teamwork abilities, and learn problem-solving skills. When considering becoming a JROTC cadet, keep in mind that uniforms are provided at no cost and there is no military obligation for students who participate.
Be sure to check out all of the tabs (above) for more information and lots of photos. Interested students are invited to contact Col. Hart or MSgt. Kepner with any questions and to learn more about what the JROTC program has to offer.
Team of Cadets Introduces JROTC during Middle School Visits
Events such as these visits allow cadets to show off their leadership and teamwork skills while introducing JROTC concepts to students at Medical Lake Middle School. Cadets engage the younger students by providing some specifics about why they might want to join the Air Force JROTC program when they get to high school. The middle schoolers get the opportunity to check out the various JROTC uniforms. They also have a chance to inspect some of the equipment, getting an up-close view of sabres and some hands-on with rifles. Drill and rifle spinning exhibitions show off examples of some of the cool stuff cadets get to do.
